OverviewInspired by Robert Adelman's 2007 curriculum, Reducing Anger in Adolescents: An REBT Approach, this program draws on the empirically based treatment modality that was introduced in 1955 by Albert Ellis, PhD. This curriculum is designed to make learning enjoyable for young clients and progress measurable for clinicians. Part One of the curriculum includes a discussion of the challenges inherent in adolescence, an overview of the REBT model that responds to those challenges, and strategies and sample dialogues for working with adolescents. Part Two breaks down the REBT model into six sessions designed to help clients apply the model and integrate it into their lives. Each session includes learning objectives, teaching points, and exercise handouts. The reproducible handouts are included on the flash drive accompanying this manual.
