Overview

This comprehensive bilingual Pashto dictionary includes over 25,000 Word-for-Word dictionary entries, and is approved for ESL/ELL students to use for standardized testing. Pashto a is an Eastern Iranian language that is native to southern and eastern Afghanistan, northwestern Pakistan, and parts of eastern Iran. It is spoken by over 40 million people worldwide. Pashto is written in the Pashto alphabet or script, which is a modified form of the Perso-Arabic script. This dictionary's two-way format makes it useful for both English and Pashto speakers. Each entry includes the Pashto script as well Romanization (common sense phonetic pronunciation) for English speakers. Pashto-speaking ELL (English-Language Learner) students can look up the meaning of English words they don't recognize, and also translate their thoughts and writing in Pashto to English using this dictionary.
