OverviewTorah reading is a ritual that involves the reading of a set of passage from Torah. Torah reading, is a set procedure believed unchanged in the 2,000 years since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. On Shabbat, a weekly section (known as a Sedra or parashah) is read, selected so that the entire Torah is read consecutively each year.
