Cathy began writing poetry when she was in High School and her very first poem entitled ""The Beginning"" is included in this collection which she has dedicated to her parents and her grandmother who was ""a poet in her own right."" Cathy, who was born in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, was influenced by Shakespeare and other poets such as Shelley, Tennyson and Wordsworth in addtion to Canadian Poets including James Reaney and Earl Birney who she met once at a reading at The Stratford Public Library.
