Pam Flowers has participated in nine arctic expeditions, a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, and shares her adventures with dogs in her other books, including Alone Across the Arctic and Sojo: Memoirs of a Reluctant Sled Dog. She lives in Talkeetna, Alaska.
