He finally finds intense love and joy that is short lived. After that he descends into madness. He searches for answers in the past and, while doing so, finds out that someone is hunting him. Everything starts to come full circle and the consequences of the past keep you on the edge of your seat. There is a common thread that people identify with when hearing or reading about someone who grew up in the same neighborhood, and the stories about the kids that came and went. It is the same with war. Some desire to have that experience and so want to read about it, and others have been the one involved on the front lines. Part of Herron's charm as an author is that he writes a story many relate to...There are few writers who are able to pull that off, keep you engaged in the story and then give you the sense of complete enjoyment of having read a good book. The first book was memorable and the second is equally gripping...literally could not put it down... The smooth rhythm and flow made this an easy book to read and enjoy. Author Information

His earliest known ancestor emigrated from what is now Northern Ireland to the colony of Virginia in 1635. Three hundred and thirteen years later, Ron was born in central Tennessee. His parents brought him north as an infant and he grew up in Michigan. Although he admits hating the winters, Ron still lives and writes in Michigan with his lovely wife, an ugly mortgage and one exceedingly large cat. A member of The National Writers Association, Michigan Writers, the Alliance of Independent Authors (UK), and The American Academy of Poets, he has written multiple works of fiction, including several award-winners.
