Author Information

A history graduate with over 38 years teaching experience before retiring, I decided to try my hand at writing when, like my hero Ian West, my marriage collapsed. I have always thought that the best history teachers were good storytellers, Nothing Left to Lose was my first attempt at an historical thriller. I have always been fascinated by the idea of history coming back to bite you in the behind, so that was the concept that inspired me to write a plot where the past can have consequences in the present. My second novel - The Price Of Loss - is partly set in the chaos following the Bolshevik revolution in Russia and the fate of the Russian Imperial Family. My current novel involving West and Mann with the historical strand based in the Irish troubles of the 1920s entitled One life to lose. This project has been underway for two years, but has been delayed by the addition of one very active husky to the family.
