Azmia is a young girl living in a war-torn country. When terrorists close down her elementary school, she is devastated that she can no longer continue her education. Luckily, some unlikely heroes come up with a plan to save the day. One is a powerful story that will educate children while inspiring them to do what they can to make a difference. The story is entertaining and explores universal lessons that will benefit kids of all ages, such as working together and using our individual strengths for the greater good. The story is creative and unique, and could be used as teaching tool for schools and teachers. One teaches children the importance of education and encourages them to never give up hope because even someone (or something) very small can make a BIG difference! Alliana Rempel is ten years old and lives in Arborg, Manitoba, with her parents and younger brother. Alliana has been involved in philanthropy since age five, when she began selling her artwork to raise funds for an inner-city children's shelter. At age six she sold her art to raise money for the Children's Hospital and at age seven she danced to raise funds. When she was eight, Alliana read the book I Am Malala and was inspired to help children with the right to education. She started Battle the Bad with Beauty to sell her artwork and to raise funds and awareness. She has since raised thousands of dollars for the Malala Fund and various other charities. She has also spoken at the MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Association) conference in San Antonio Texas about her work. Her next goal is to raise enough money to build an entire school in an area of need. Alliana loves reading, writing, dance, art, the ocean and summer....
