She authored another book, Coming to Our Senses: Perceiving Complexity to Avoid Catastrophes, in 2014, and wrote two children's titles for Scribners under the name Viki Holland. She resided in a cabin on Puget Sound with her spouse, surrounded by wildlife. Outside of her writing and research, Viki designed prizewinning Japanese gardens.
