Overview

This book of poems openly addresses and comments upon topics and themes arising in and emerging from life in the fallen world. It attempts to thoughtfully and artfully deal with these, while directly and indirectly pointing to sources of value, hope, and redemption. The latter are ultimately spiritual in nature and are gracious gifts from a loving Creator. The poems attempt to support the notion that verse is an appropriate medium for any and every topic. It invites the reader to determine whether poetry can elucidate and interpret some important life themes and events.

"""Thomas Ronald Vaughan cares about people--the best thing I can say about someone. He has demonstrated that in a life of service via the mental health industry and through the Christian ministry. Vaughan does the same in these lyrical poems that through historical tragedies reveal a fallen humanity that nevertheless rises in the hope that his voice and spiritual bearing provide. On Courting Mary after Easter is a poetic journey more than worthy of our attention."" --Tim Peeler, author of West of Mercy ""From a lover's lost arms to blood diamonds and the enslavement of the innocent, in On Courting Mary after Easter, Vaughan again describes through metaphors and verse what it means to be human."" --Donna Marie Todd, author of Navigating Loss ""Thomas Ronald Vaughan cares about people--the best thing I can say about someone.
