Overview

Old Steel is a personal chronicle about how we must evolve and rethink our martial training and teaching, as we age. Old Steel challenges us, as aging martial artists, to change even how we think about the very nature of our martial arts. Gabelhouse offers a narrative of how we can positively evolve our martial training and teaching through the changes and challenges of old age. Old Steel will benefit not only senior martial artists, but also those who can see old age from where they're standing in life.

Reviews

If Gary has found acceptance, peace, and understanding with how age, illness, and extremes have impacted his martial arts, then, if we are mindful of his journey, as reported in Old Steel, it should be much easier for the rest of us to adjust as we age. -- Steve Wilson-Sensei--Goju Ryu Karate Old Steel is a reminder that age happens when you least expect it. No punches pulled. Many will find wisdom for their own journey, in the answers Gary finds and offers. And the young and invincible might learn a bit too. I find a kinship in Gary's journey that binds us together. -- Victor Smith-Sensei--Isshinryu Karate
