This child-friendly innovative book helps children to feel comfortable with fractions and ratios explaining complex ideas in a simple easily understood way for the child, teacher and parent. The more complex understanding of a ratio as a derivative will come naturally as the child progresses through the series. This series of books will help the child to effortlessly develop the intuition needed to understand how ratios work within the different contexts of life. It also allows teachers and parents to move away from process math but instead encourage children to think and reason. The illustrations are imperfect which leaves the door open for bigger ideas in the future with the goal to expose them to the notation used in physics and calculus. The parent or teacher will feel comfortable and confident with the material since all the answers are provided. It is unrealistic to think that one book can provide the basis for a fine foundation in mathematics. Understanding math well is a process that at the beginning takes time and patience but can also be fun.
