OverviewThis study is part of a series of analytical studies of the major aspects of nuclear legislation in OECD countries. The first study, published in 1967, dealt with national legislations concerning third party liability. Since then, several other studies on other aspects of nuclear law in member countries have been issued (on areas such as transport, radiation protection and trade). Periodical updates are issued covering amendments in national nuclear laws and regulations. This is a revised and expanded version of the 1983-4 study, reviewing the body of regulations governing nuclear activities in the OECD area as well as the institutional framework in which such regulations are applied in each country.
