Quite frankly, I think the organization of chapters is unique. There are not many textbooks that understand that the leading indicator of failure is not the 'work, ' but the lack of ability to manage social and emotional concerns. The text also provides many examples of how the information is applied in real life. Again, this provides avenues for increased student investment. The organization and unique emphasis of this text certainly makes it stand out. Likewise, there is a concreteness as to how material is presented; critical to developmental students. First textbook to acknowledge the severity of social and emotional concerns. Topics are covered clearly and concisely. --Michael Culligan, St. Petersburg College Clear and concise, this text is easy to read and follow. --Amy L. Johns, Moberly Area Community College
