What could be more exciting than the news that a little one, no bigger right now than the size of a peppercorn, is on the way? The Nana in this story is beside herself in joyous anticipation of the child who will soon be in this world. Until that happens, Nana is busy dreaming of the future and the happy times they will share. There will be lazy days sitting in the sunshine and watching the birds fly and the bees gather nectar for their hives. Other days will be spent by the seashore, frolicking in the waves with turtles and other sea creatures, or camping outdoors under the stars, or tucked up warm and comfy at home watching movies and snacking on pizza and popcorn. So many marvelous dreams about the future that will soon become a reality. My Dearest Little Peppercorn is an inspirational and lovely paean written by a Nana who's just gotten the news about a grandchild, albeit still a tiny one. Smith's excitement is writ large on each and every beautifully painted watercolor image in this book. There's something magical in how the author/artist conveys her dreams so vividly in this book and gets the reader to share in those future outings and adventures which Nana plans to embark upon with her new grandchild. My Dearest Little Peppercorn is a marvelous way to introduce the subject of a new brother or sister to a young child, making the somewhat abstract and perhaps a little frightening news into something real and to be eagerly dreamed of just as Nana does. Nana's excitement and exuberance are quite contagious, and that's a very good thing. My Dearest Little Peppercorn is most highly recommended.

Jill has worked in the field of forensic imaging for over 30 years, publishing science papers and a technical book during that time. In addition, she is a scuba divemaster and underwater photography instructor, but as she approaches retirement, with grandchildren now beginning to join the family, she is looking to express all that love and excitement in new and creative ways.
