Overview

When I was a little girl I watched my Dad take photographs at every family event - birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and graduations. He was so proud of his Kodak camera complete with leather camera bag, a huge flash add on, and big blue flash bulbs. For my eighth birthday he gave me my very own Kodak camera. In those days film was 110 and came 12 or 24 photographs to a roll. Inserting film into a camera was a frustrating endeavor. Removing film from the camera was fraught with the risk of tearing, shredding, or exposing the film. Taking the exposed film to a photography store was expensive and drug store photographs were not always great quality. When 110 film was no longer available I switched to 35 mm disposable cameras. By then drug store and discount stores had good quality processing of the film. But it was the digital point and shoot cameras that made me want to take photographs - not just at events or on travel but everywhere. I kept my first such camera in my pocket - it was a Kodak and I wore it out. A Panasonic was next which I managed to drop and shatter the lens. After that I never traveled without a backup camera. The photographs in this book are from all the cameras I ever owned. They are grouped for artistic rather than historic or geographic reference. On each pair of pages you will find an explanation of the grouping of photographs as well as the year taken, location, and content of the photo on the left page and the photographs themselves on the right page. Enjoy.
