He has been at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Beijing University of Technology, since 1995, and as a professor of chemical engineering since 2005. He was a visiting scholar with George Belfort, NAE member, at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA, from 2009 to 2010. He acts as the leader of the expert group of China's water technology in the 45th and 46th World Skills Competition.
