Since 2011 she has worked as a research coordinator and archive manager at the Alfred Ehrhardt Foundation Berlin. Christiane Stahl studied art history and the science of theater and film in Paris and Berlin. She served as an academic assistant at the Deutsche Historische Museum Berlin, the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, and the Galerie Karsten Greve. She went on to become Director of the Alfred Ehrhardt Stiftung Koeln and later the Deputy Chairperson at the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Photographie.
