Overview

The Journey System is instrumental in memorizing 'longer' strings of information such as text even by page number, (math, physics, chemical, and so on) formulae, speeches, directions, phone conversations, competition material, and much more. In this System, key or chunked items are each assigned unique and vivid imagery (or other sensual impressions) of choice and are recallable in any order by respective association with a series of loci comprising a mental journey. But for so important a technique, nearly all of us seem well short of a required number of favorite or even seemingly conceivable memory journeys. Compatible with and fully indexed to all memory techniques requiring the Journey System in both the works of eight times World Memory Champion Dominic O'Brien - who I believe has the best basic memory system - and my compatible books, this book shows you how to easily generate memory journeys from your favorite worldly locations - perhaps a spectacular international airport, a white modern apartment block, a languid clean lines hotel bedroom aglow with summer, a colorful and bustling subway station, or luscious gardens - and the most enchanting, exciting and atmospheric fantasy locations from, perhaps, The Lord of the Rings (such as Bag End, the fog-enshrouded Barrow-Downs, Mirkwood, the Moria Mines, perhaps Minas Tirith), the Star Wars series (a Star Destroyer, a rebel base, Cloud City, Mos Eisley, and so on), ghost stories, and role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons and Traveller (such as an interstellar freighter, a space cruiser, a particularly expansive and multiracial space station, a prison asteroid, a tropical planet with an advanced civilization and gigantic trees, key Imperial buildings, etc.). Included are around three hundred fairly easily memorized (and adaptable) memory journeys (including optional means of creating a memory journey from favorite objects, smells, and Number-Shapes , and ample alternative locations and objects culled from encyclopedias on civil engineering, the most inspiring fantasy sources, and my best imaginings) covering each number from 0 through 99. I also show you how to generate up to 10,000 (for each number from 0 through 9999) memory journeys from as little as one favorite such and how to improve Dominic's means to both recall multiple decks of playing cards (with well-researched suggestions for improving at various card games, perhaps for profit) and one's planner. (I also open the book with a model of the most sensible health suggestions, especially food combining, and show you how to keep getting wealthier over time by exploiting the principle of compound interest). Practical and exhilarating trips limited only by your imagination!
