Author Information

William Durbin, a 30-year student and practitioner of martial arts, has reached the level of soke, the highest ranking in Kiyojute Kempo. He is considered to be one of the world's foremost authorities and historians on Kempo, the original martial art. He also holds varying degrees of black belts in judo, karate, taekwondo, and tai chi. Durbin is president of the Christian Martial Arts Association and the Spiritual Martial Arts Research Association. Among his numerous martial arts honors are Presidential Sports Awards for karate and judo. Durbin also has been listed in Who's Who for Karate and American Martial Arts and was chosen as one of the Outstanding Young Men in America. Durbin resides in Frankfort, Kentucky, with his wife, Carol.
