This would be a go-to book for managers in managerial decision making by helping them to understand the mindset of technical people in industry, as well as for technical staff like data analysts and data scientists by providing them with the big picture about decision making and how managers make decisions using big data. -- Asil Oztekin, Ph.D. There are many books on Analytics, Big Data and Data Science. This book is unique and practical as it covers the above topics in tandem with decision making, which is crucial for innovation, problem solving and operational enhancements. Furthermore, I am intrigued to see it also addresses many of the non-technical aspects of the field which are all pivotal for quality decision making and knowledge retention - namely the contexts, ethics, privacy, and decision maker's styles. A great contribution to the field especially for those in practice. -- Professor Eric Tsui This is a book for real people who have to make decisions and who want to use the best technology and data analytics available today. You do not need to be a technologist to make sense of this book. The many useful charts and diagrams, the recommended additional readings, insightful quotations that give voice to managers' experiences in working with big data to make decisions, and summaries of key learning for each chapter all lend themselves to making the learning experience easier and more applicable. Most importantly, I think it is a book that will make you want to learn and read more on this critically important topic. -- David Rooney This book is essential reading for those wanting to understand the role of big data and business analytics in management decision making. -- Professor Michael D.
