Reviews

"“Making Room for Everyone is as much a reflection of who Bill Gordh is—as a leader and advocate for children’s worship—as it is what he strives to accomplish in this remarkable volume. Through his understanding of children, utilization of a vast array of resources, and his remarkable openness to the moment, Bill makes room, plenty of room. The care he exhibits each week in chapel is so evident in the care he has taken here to provide an exhaustive set of resources, combined with the wisdom he shares with us about children, their spiritual needs, and the ‘place apart’ he constructs in chapel.” —From the Foreword by the Rev. Daniel R. Heischman, D.D., Executive Director, National Association of Episcopal Schools ""The works of Bill Gordh set the standard for chapel planning and celebration. Building a Children’s Chapel offered a wealth of wisdom stories engaging both adults and children. It was perfect timing to receive the treasure that is Making Room for Everyone. Bill tells stories about the blessings of inclusion, using tales from a range of cultures and traditions to teach us about taking care of all gathered at the table. As a chaplain, I am inspired by Bill’s vital work and have continued to be guided by his stories and ideas for chapels over the years."" —Sarah Anne Wood, Lead Chaplain, Trinity School, New York City ""Bill Gordh is a master story teller, weaving together meaningful themes, beautiful music and creative stories. With this book, he gives you a window into his deep knowledge of stories from around the world and helps you bring that Bill Gordh magic into your community. You not only get so many wonderful stories, but art projects, songs and other activities to help enhance your storytelling experience and there is so much in each story that you will come back to them again and again. This is a wonderful addition to any school or religious community and anyone who loves stories should have this in their library."" —Rabbi Rebecca Rosenthal, Director of Youth Family Education, Central Synagogue, New York City"
