Safian writes a monthly Q&A column for the online publication Just Coding and writes several articles each year on various aspects of coding. In addition, she is the author of six textbooks. Her newest book, Foundations of Health Care Administration, was released January 2014. Safian is in her fourth year as the chair of the continuing education committee for FHIMA (Florida Health Information Management Association).
