Lillian Bernstein was born in 1937 in Montreal, Quebec. Her environment promoted belief in Kindness and Hope. At a young age, Lillian experienced WWII, losing both her matriarchal and patriarchal family in the Holocaust as she watched her older brother leave home to fight in the war. Lillian met her everlasting love, Hyman, at the age of thirteen. At twenty, her body declared war. She was diagnosed with LUPUS, a lifelong disease. Lillian and Hyman combatted challenges, made choices, and took chances. They focused on being parents, devoted to their family and friends. Life is a Gift follows Lillian's dedication to the community. Alongside her career in education, she volunteered and fulfilled her appreciation of the arts. Follow Lillian's journey of love, family, community, battling chronic illness, and art lived with Faith, Fate, Belief. Be inspired by the purpose to live 'Life to Life.'

Lillian Shoub is an artist, educator, wife, mother, grandmother, lifelong student, philanthropist, and writer. Lillian was diagnosed with LUPUS at age twenty. Her diagnosis of a chronic disorder did not stop her from living the life she dreamed of, filled with incredible adventures of travel, family, and giving to her community. A prominent member of the National Council of Jewish Women for many years, Lillian contributed to an innumerable amount of programs and social services for people in Montreal and around the world. Lillian is an alum of Concordia University, having earned a degree after returning to school in her thirties.
