Overview

Author Shantala Kay Russell became fowl-inspired by the antics of her 100 free range chickens (little dinosaurs) on her small farm in Tryon, North Carolina. She enjoys chickens from the incubator hatching of baby chicks to the laying of eggs. She once timed a baby chick hatching to take place on her four-year-old grandson's birthday. She believes that laughter is good for everyone and thus these chicken short stories were born. Shantala Kay Russell began writing at age 17 for her High School newspaper, and was promoted from reporter to Editor of the Features Page.She worked for The Asheville Citizen Times as a free lance reporter. She was organizer of The Charlotte Write to Publish Group Meetup(over 1000 members) and recently moved to Athens, Georgia. Now age 69 she is a Granny - Nanny - Tutor and enjoys writing and teaching children age 7 and up to write (and read). She also does small editing jobs and coaches new writers who are interested in self-publishing.
