Overview"The German-language culture magazine ""Im Herzen Europa"" was published in Prague and pursued the goal of making Czechoslovak culture known in German-speaking countries and strengthening relations with Austria and Germany in a cultural-diplomatic mission. In addition, the magazine reflects the developments in Czechoslovakia during the Prague Spring and provides extremely interesting insights into the liberalization process of the Czechoslovak regime in the 1960s. In this volume of the series ""Intellectual Prague in the 19th and 20th Century"", Hélène Leclerc dedicates herself to the history of the magazine and its function as a diplomatic instrument in Czechoslovak-German and Czechoslovak-Austrian relations, as well as the role of the writer and journalist Lenka Reinerová, who as editor-in-chief of ""Im Herzen Europa"" had a significant influence."
