Overview

This resource is one of a series of three books written to cover Learning for Life and Work at Key Stage 3. The book covers the three main strands - Personal Development, Citizenship and Employability - at a level appropriate for Year 8 students, and is supported with a CD of student worksheets. They are written by the author of Colourpoint's existing and acclaimed Learning for Life and Work series for GCSE. Written in a clear and engaging style, the text is suitable for a broad range of abilities, making complex issues accessible as well as offering practical advice. The book is arranged in a logical manner, with each double-page spread intended to be studied within one week of LLW lessons. The stand-alone nature of each lesson means that teachers can choose the most appropriate order to progress through the material during the course of the year. Each section contains ideas and activities, and is accompanied by relevant icons where cross-curricular skills, thinking skills and personal capabilities are addressed. The accompanying CD, available separately, has been written alongside the text and follows exactly the content of each numbered lesson. The materials on the resource include a printable student worksheet for every lesson, photographs for projection and additional activities.
