The book has been designed to get your head around health and safety whether you are the Operations Manager, and the safety portfolio has been handed to you, or you are a qualified professional and the responsibility for safety has been placed in your hands. The book has been written by Don Ramsay who used to be the Program Manager for the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) and then left to become a consultant. As a consultant Don worked for the forerunner of Worksafe NZ and also the Forest Owners Association. At the time of leaving ACC Don was the Program Manager for Forestry. While working for ACC Don set up the Workplace safety Discounts program which allowed small businesses to get a discount off their levy. Don worked with five industries designing the audit tool. Don has a degree from Massey University and also a Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety..
