Author Information

Joshua Hyles holds an MA in History from Baylor University‚ USA, as well as separate Bachelors of Arts and Sciences in Archaeology, History, and Classical Languages. He serves as the Executive Program Director of the Eugene Scassa Mock OAS Program, an intercollegiate academic conference and competition involving undergraduate, graduate, and law school students from across the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. He is the author of short works in the fields of colonial history, Latin American studies, and political science, and has served as chief editor for the anthologies The Americas and the New World Order, Inter-American Relations: Past, Present, and Future Trends and The Cultural Fabric of the Americas. His most recent monograph, Guiana and the Shadows of Empire, a study of the colonial legacies of Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana, has been recognized internationally as a valuable contribution to the overall study of that region of South America.
