Reviews

Best selling book on rope and wire work. First published in 1963 and now fully updated to include modern ropes and fibres. In colour and truly pocket sized. Simple, straightforward and informative. Gaffer's Log (December 2006) 'Some information on slipping, untying and other aspects of the knots is accompanied by curiosities of interest. The small size makes this a very handy pocket guide.' Canoeist (June 2007)

Author Information

Colin Jarman has been a professional marine photojournalist for over 40 years and an avid sailor for well over 50 years. Although a small boat sailor at heart, he qualified for and joined the Ocean Cruising Club in 1974 and today edits their quarterly Newsletter. Colin’s interest in knots and ropework began when he started sailing and has resulted in a number of best-selling books on the subject. Colin sails his 21ft bilge keeled cruiser in the shallow, infinitely varied waters of England’s East Coast and Thames Estuary where he loves to explore small creeks and remote anchorages.
