Overview

The Knit & Crochet Planner is a simple, comprehensive approach to organizing your knitting and crochet projects and inventory. This book includes 130 pages for knitters, loom knitters and crocheters. It includes project planning sheets with pattern, yarn and tool information to keep you on track plus extra graph and note pages. Also, donation, gift and sales logs so you know where your finished projects are going. And inventory sheets so you can see at a glance what needles, hooks and knitting looms you have before you start a project. Use the Knit & Crochet Planner as a journal to keep track of all your projects in one place or cut out the pages to keep them with your current project. Either way you're going to love the convenience of having all the information about your latest knit or crochet project at your fingertips. Project Pages: If you are anything like me you get excited about a new pattern and want to dive in, so your current project gets set aside. You know what I'm talking about! Soon you have projects in every room with scribbled notes in the margins on the pattern. Or worse yet the pattern gets lost and you can't even remember the name of it. To help stay organized I sat and thought out my ideal way to keep track of my WIP. (That's Work in Progress in case you didn't know.) That became the basis for the Project Page that any needle knitter, loom knitter, or crocheter can use. It includes project vitals like pattern, gauge, yarn, tools and other details plus room for extra notes (goodbye margin scribbles) and a grid for making changes or adding embellishments that can be referenced again and again. The individual pages are marked with dashed lines to cut out easily with scissors so you can place it in protective sleeve with your pattern to take it on the go. I also included a handy reference chart at the bottom of each project page that suggests equivalent needle, loom and crochet hook sizes for the appropriate yarn weight. Metric numbers are also included for the UK/AU standard for yarn. There are 30 double-sided Project Pages included in the workbook as well as extra pages for additional notes and full page graph paper for planning larger projects. Tracking Logs: Donations: If you knit or crochet for charity you already know that each organization has their own specifications for the types of items they accept. If you've ever knit 100 hats and had them rejected you NEED this workbook. The Donations Checklist includes all the information you need for each organization including, contact info, yarn and project requirements and more. On the back of the checklist is a log to keep track of each group donated items for that charity. Gifts: Don't ever give the same gift twice! Keep track of who got the red fingerless gloves for Christmas and if you already gave Aunt Fran a blue hat with a yellow flower for her birthday. Sales: The sales logs help you manage your new business venture. Whether you sell at craft fairs, the local coffee shop, online storefronts or even commissioned work this is a great way to start tracking your sales. Inventory: Tool inventory sheets help track your knitting needles, crochet hooks and knitting looms. There are multiple Inventory sheets for use in each of these categories; Straight Needles, Circular Needles, DPNs (Double Pointed Needles), Knitting Looms, and Crochet Hooks. We tried to give enough pages in each for an average to large stash. In total there are 32 inventory pages. Get your copy today and grab one for a fellow yarnie. Believe me they'll thank you! ...Overall I believe this workbook to be a worthwhile expense. It is extremely well thought out. There are parts of it that I would not have thought-out but now I am so glad to it's included like the gift giving list. Just the charitable log if kept up would pay for the cost of buying a book. - Denise Canela, Loom A Hat, Click for full review ...This project organizer is geared toward all fiber artists. The cheerful cover, photographed by Kristen, immediately draws you into the fiber world, inviting you to get organized. All in all, I think this is a wonderful addition to the fiber arts community. I love new books and this one will help us be more productive in the new year! - Nicole Fox, This Moment is Good, Click for full review This is worth every penny. It's very well written up, and so much important information, which is great to have, if you want to make another project. This organizer will definitely be handy for me. -Bonnie V. I used it to keep my knitting organized. -Betty Goldberg This book is really an incredible book that keeps all your knitting projects in tow, so that they do not spiral out of control. We all have that WIP box with 20 WIP's in it, tangled and not finished. This book really helps to keep things in order. -bmboonie

Author Information

Kristen Mangus first learned to crochet as a child from her great Aunt. She discovered finger knitting (closely related to loom knitting) and enjoyed it so much she got in trouble at school for knitting in class! After her fibrous trouble she tried latch hooks and plastic canvas until junior high school. Then Kristen worked with her mom making crafts including homecoming mums, puff paint shirts, jewelry and anything with a glue gun! Kristen's Krafts was born and continued that entrepreneurial spirit into college. She started Angelbearries Floral Designs after working at MJDesigns making tons of bows, floral crafts and wedding florals. Interior Design beckoned. Kristen ended up with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from Texas Christian University in 1999. For years she enjoyed professionally space planning, forecasting for future challenges, and problem solving with Interior Design. But she was missing her crafty side and didn't know it... Upon experiencing the pains of postpartum, after her third child in 2010, Kristen decided to pick up knitting and crochet books and learn as a form of therapy. The books came in and she studied them and went onward to a late night trip to Walmart. She happened upon a set of Knifty Knitter looms and thought...this looks easier! Having carpel tunnel at the time meant the looms were less strenuous! She found the directions were not so great and was disappointed with the designs. Why can't loom patterns look like needle versions?! . And so her new journey began. In January 2011 Kristen started the YouTube channel GoodKnit Kisses (known as GoodKnitKisses on YouTube). It has been quite a journey so far and through having 3 kids, a full time career, and YouTube at night it finally became time to jump all the way. In late August 2014 Kristen took the leap of staying home with her kids and working on GoodKnit Kisses (GKK) full time. Today GKK has over 197K Subscribers and 30 Million views with people getting the help they need and having fun! You can also catch her on Season 8 of the PBS CreateTV shoe Knit and Crochet Now!
