Overview

This manual is designed to help student bridge the gap between sparring and self-defense techniques. These set of manuals are arranged Yellow - Black so students will know which level they should be working on. Each level is a building block onto the next. Starting will stationary moves and grabs for Yellow Belt. Orange Belt is designed to teach you how to use bumps, checks, and other moves to make your opponent off balance or take them to the ground. Purple Belt will help you learn to bridge the gap between you and your opponent. It will show you how to use the lunge punch in conjunction with other self-defense moves as well as other moves that we use to bridge the gap between you and your opponent. Blue and Green belt will show you how to take the previous moves you have learned and incorporate your Kenpo self-defense techniques. Brown Belt will be adding different Jujitsu techniques. The final belt Black Belt will be a combination of everything. These techniques are designed as a starting point, once you have them down work on free flowing with them and adding your own twist to the moves. These are taught to give you a base to start with for each belt, but it is up to you to take them to the next level and truly freestyle with them and turn them into your own. These freestyle techniques are not required for each belt but to help you with each belt and to give you additional ways to learn the sparring concepts we teach.
