OverviewThe Bible is an amazingly accurate history book.Full of allegory, prose, poetry, and letters, it is a journal of the thoughts, deeds, and actions of God's kings, priests, prophets, and people over thousands of years. It is also an instruction manual for those who seek Him today.1 Corinthians 10:1-6 states: For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea; and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and all ate the same spiritual food; and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ. Nevertheless, with most of them God was not well-pleased; for they were laid low in the wilderness. Now these things happened as examples for us.... In these verses, the apostle Paul, author of a large portion of the New Testament, links the ancient Israelites to new Christian believers. He also announces the natural events and paths chosen by these forefathers in the faith were recorded and written down so that, ages and generations later, they would be instructions for the spiritual events and paths chosen by each Christian and true Church. From our twenty-first century perspective, Paul's words have proven to be prophetic since the stories mirror each other. Three sets of footprints follow the same journey.
