Overview

An estimated 15% of all Catholic parishes in the United States are growing in membership by default, because of new home building or immigration. Other Catholic parishes are in decline. Only 2% of Catholic parishes are growing with a real vision and plan to grow not just participants but disciples of Jesus. One third of all U.S. Catholic adults have been Confirmed. Thus, the Catholic under pressure is making three choices: grow in the Christian faith, become a member of another religious group or just be a Used to Be Catholic. Fr. Jerome Kwasek is a Catholic priest, from another Christian denomination, faithfully married for over four decades. He is a graduate of the Ecumenical Institute of St. Mary's Seminary and University, Baltimore Maryland. St. Mary's is the oldest Catholic seminary in the United States.
