He was born in Atlanta, GA, on February 21, 1925 and died on September 22, 2006 in Madison, WI. Bloodworth completed his college studies at Emory University, in Atlanta, and Stanford University, Stanford, CA, culminating in a B.S. degree from the latter school in 1945. Bloodworth then received his M.D. from Emory University in 1948.
