Nixon is District Superintendent Emeritus for the Southern Florida District of the Church of the Nazarene. Prior to his nine years in Southern Florida, he served for ten years on the Dallas District. He served 25 years as a minister in the Church of the Nazarene, pastoring churches in Florida, South Carolina, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Tennessee. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, an M. Div. from Nazarene Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Drew University.
