Table of ContentsReviewsWhen you've worked on the Elysee Palace and had your own creations featured in the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, it would seem that the sky's the limit. And in the case of designer Isabelle Stanislas, that is indeed the case. This fall the decorator is out with a publication that gathers all the softly-lit style of her French-inflected interiors. (She's also on the cusp of releasing a fragrance, as if she weren't busy enough.) For those in the market for a new book, expect parquet flooring, warm neutrals, and impressive pieces of art. That, and gorgeous furniture as far as the eye can see. -ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST In this monograph, Isabelle Stanislas, a designer with clients as illustrious as Cartier, Hermes, and the French president, makes a case for historical preservation, restraint, and ease. -ELLE DECOR When you've worked on the Elysee Palace and had your own creations featured in the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, it would seem that the sky's the limit. -ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST Stanislas installed wood paneling in the dining room and study, a coffered ceiling in the family room, and replaced each and every fireplace (the apartment had previously been a squat for four years and was in a rather sorry state). Other elements of the decor are typical of her sophisticated work, which is the subject of a monograph to be published by Rizzoli later this year. She loves working with a largely monochromatic palette and claims to treat each room like an island. -ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST Author InformationIsabelle Stanislas is a French architect, interior designer, and restorer who has headed her Isabelle Stanislas Architecture studio since 2000. Her work has been exhibited at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, and various private galleries.
