Overview

For the past three decades, artist Christian Peltenburg-Brechneff has often traded his traditional artist studio for the expansive possibilities of a global odyssey. Immersing himself in terrains both near and far-from Lunuganga in tropical Sri Lanka to the Aegean Island of Sifnos - he has had the privilege of painting in some of the most exquisite and heretofore unrecorded gardens of world-class tastemakers and the international elite. '...what Peltenburg-Brechneff offers in his paintings is the experience of being in gardens-the texture, style, and mood of each place...There's a confident playfulness on display throughout, like watching a jazz pianist let loose on a keyboard. Readers will hope the artist isn't finished going out on the road and into the garden just yet.' - Flower Magazine 'Every now and then a book comes along that speaks to me in an unexpected way. Into the Garden by artist Christian Peltenburg-Brechneff is just that kind of book...thing about this book that caught me off guard a bit is the bold, abstract quality of the images (and that I was so enchanted by them). Van Gogh comes to mind...this book captured my imagination...' - Holly Sneeringer, Elegant Country Style
