OverviewAs trade barriers are lifted in the Single European Market, the level of contact between European lawyers is certain to increase. A basic understanding of each other's technical and legal terminology is therefore essential and this dictionary is designed to fulfil this need. This dictionary of English, French and German legal terms is arranged in three sections to facilitate the finding of the appropriate entry. It includes basic legal terminology plus the most frequently-used law-related terms from banking, finance, insurance, industry and taxation as well as Latin and EC abbreviations. It should be useful not only to lawyers, but also to a wide range of others in commerce and industry, such as auditors, accountants and insurance company executives. The author heads the Swedish Ministry of Finance's translation and processing of EC directives, regulations and administrative provisions. He was formerly a member of the Belgian Translator's Association in Luxembourg.
