OverviewIn 2007 the Integrated Upland Monitoring program of SCPN began monitoring upland sites at PEFO with the installation of 10 plots in the Clayey Fan ecological site and 20 plots in the Sandy Loam ecological site, of which the authors are monitoring 10. (see 2007 report). The authors sampled quadrats and basal gap intercepts annually to determine the range of temporal variability for key metrics. Power analysis was then used to determine the total number of plots necessary to detect change in the key metrics. In this report, the authors document monitoring activities in the 2008 field season and compare these data with the data collected in 2007.
