The INNOQUA project and book are so timely. Demonstrated at numerous locations worldwide, INNOQUA convincingly innovates the structure and process engineering of wastewater treatment in terms of ""Nature Based Solutions"" - an eye opener! Congratulations and thanks to all members of the project team - one of who sadly passed away just before this publication. It is with gratitude that we remember our academic advisor and friend Prof. Chris Buckley from the WASH R&D Centre at the University of KwaZulu Natal. His commitment to the INNOQUA project was invaluable. The time for wastewater innovation is now - INNOQUA shows us a way. Stefan Reuter Member of the Supervisory Board of the Faecal Sludge Management Alliance and Independent Advisor, Germany
