Flowers. They come to mind when we think of weddings, anniversaries, and Valentine's Day. They bloom, in large numbers, during the spring. But, do we think of them, when we think of great art? This is a picture book, for all ages, of flowers in art. Flowers are presented differently in each picture. Please notice the differences and similarities in the pictures. These images span centuries. Notice the size, materials used to create the artwork, country, and current location of the art work. Some of the art work has more information available than others. Look at the colors, patterns, and textures in the pictures. Notice the backgrounds, other objects in the composition, and landscapes in the art work. This is only a teaspoonful of flowers in art. Author Information

Bonnie Hardison earned her B. A. from Agnes Scott College in 2001 in Business Economics and Studio Art. She has been a visual and performing artist in the Tennessee Valley community since 2002. She has won awards in regional art competitions, worked on community art projects, performed, volunteered as an art instructor, and taught artistic design classes in several cities throughout Alabama. She is also a competitive Irish dancer with the Huntsville Irish Dancers.
