Author Information

David and his wife Melissa Vela were raised in Wharton, Texas. They are both retired, and now live in Bryan, Texas. They have two children and seven grandchildren. David enjoys serving on national boards that promote diversity, youth, and national park interests as well as speaking on these issues in public forums. In addition, they enjoy watching their grandkids play school and league sports as well as domestic and international travel.
