Author Information

GEORGI STONE grew up in Perth Western Australia where she graduated in psychology in 1977. Soon after she set off to trek overseas and lived in a squat in London for three years, working in varied roles as a barmaid, a painter and carpenter, a women's refuge worker and a rape crisis counsellor. It was during this time in 1979 that she traversed Northern Africa and the Sahara desert with her friend and colleague Kirsten. The following year she returned via America to Australia, and continued employment in women's refuges and rape crisis counselling in various states, returning to Perth in the early 1990s to be close to family and to give birth to her daughter. Disillusioned with the clinical drug-based path of psychology, Georgi trained professionally in Expressive Arts Therapies, utilising psychotherapeutic techniques in drama, dance, art, sound and ritual, and incorporating this into workshops and therapy programs. Integrated into her life and work has always been an avid interest in quantum science and esoteric healing as well as nature-based philosophy, herbal medicine, music, community arts, feminist activism, and human rights.
