Author Information

Richard Dean Burns is professor emeritus and former chair of the History Department at California State University, Los Angeles. He has authored and edited some two dozen books and an equal number of in-depth articles covering arms control, diplomatic history, international law and American foreign policy. A bibliographer, essayist and editor, Burns has long been involved in preparing reference books. Joseph M. Siracusa is professor in Human Security and International Diplomacy and Deputy Dean of Global and Language Studies, in the School of Global, Urban, and Social Studies, at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, Melbourne, Australia. He is internationally known for his writings on nuclear history, diplomacy, and presidential politics. He is also a frequent political affairs commentator in the Australian media, including ABC Radio National.
