OverviewThis book is based on a true story of a young boy's experience as the shepherd to his neighbor's sheep. The sheep would respond and follow the sound of the young boy's voice but completely ignore the voices of his two brothers. This helped the young boy to understand the parable of Jesus the Good Shepherd. Jesus wants us to be like sheep that know his voice. Parables and other figurative language, commonly used in God's Word, can often be difficult for children to understand. When explained, the figurative language provides examples that can draw a mental picture of heavenly things that cannot be seen. They can grab one's attention and put emphasis on a biblical principle, and provide a deeper meaning to the context.
