Overview

Heroes and Their TreesTrees can be found in most areas of the world. To you it may seem like there are so many trees that we can use as many as we want and it won't matter, but the sad truth is that our tree populations are becoming smaller and smaller. Many adults today don't think the trees are important so they continue to cut them until the forests become too small for animals and other species to live in. Running out of trees leads to global warming which is bad for all living things, even us. It wasn't always this way. Since the beginning of time and continuing until recently, heroes in the form of Presidents, Kings, Pirates, mythical & storybook characters, and even giants have used or have been remembered with trees. The trees are used as symbols for someone significant or of something major that happened. Heroes from history knew how important the trees are, and I hope that after reading this book, you will too. If you already know how important the trees are, then I'm sure you will appreciate the rest of this story. The Dragon Oak MissionThe Dragon Oak logo was created to be a symbol of real hope & heroism. Hope, in part, for a happy, healthy future that is currently at risk due to global warming and those who choose to ignore it. Our mission is to encourage people, children in particular, to live greener lives. Planting of trees is a great way to get families together for a positive activity. When children enjoy these types of activities, they tend to look for other ways to save the planet and will encourage others to do the same.In order to make our mission more fun for children and adults alike, we have incorporated heroes who had connections to trees into the story. These heroes include well-known characters such as Zeus, Blackbeard the Pirate, & Robin Hood, once believed only to be fictional. Historical figures such as Presidents, Royals, and Generals are also entwined in the stories. To make our story even more intriguing, we will show connections among many of our characters in following books of this series. I have little doubt that the stories to come will only leave you wanting more . . . The Truth is in the Trees. Author Nicole Morton A little about me: I am a mom first and foremost. It is the most important and gratifying job I have ever had. I reside in what I consider to be the best state in the U.S., Colorado. I live with my husband and our three children. My passion for writing, family, and the diminishing of the environment are a few of the reasons I'm writing The Dragon Oak series and for maintaining my blog at NicoleMorton.com.
