OverviewElectrostatic ion accelerators and associated superconducting linacs were the class of accelerators discussed. Continuing the trend of the last several meetings in this series, two sessions were needed to report current developments in superconducting ion accelerators. Also, many interesting recent developments were reported in a session devoted to ECR ion sources. Several applications received attention. A session was devoted to atomic mass spectroscopy. Both because of the venue and the timeliness of the topic, two sessions and a number of poster presentations focussed on the technology needed for beams of exotic, radioactive nuclei.
