Overview

Paul Briggs's candid autobiography describes his troubled childhood and teens; his years of railing against both his fighting opponents and the demons ranged against him; and his rise to the top of the WBC light heavyweight rankings. Paul 'Hurricane' Briggs - from a family of Kiwi fighters - moved to Australia early in his life. By his teens, Paul was already set to become kickboxing world champion. But Briggs gave kickboxing away. He made a name for himself as a Brisbane DJ and developed an appetite for ecstasy and cocaine. He slipped into crime. Self-loathing took him to the brink of suicide, until fate intervened ... At 19 he was the kickboxing champion of the world and now, at 28, he's poised to have a second shot at the WBC light heavyweight world title.
