In 1972 Douglas Goldhamer was healed, through prayers a Kabbalistic Rabbi taught him, of a crippling case of Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome. "Rabbi Douglas Goldhamer, PhD, DD, lives in Evanston, Illinois, with his wife, soulmate, and co-author Peggy Bagley. He helped found Chicago's Congregation Bene Shalom, is a Professor of Jewish Mysticism and Associate Professor of Philosophy, and co-authored This is for Everyone. Chicago Jewish News placed him among ""Ten Outstanding Jewish Leaders in Chicago"" in 2007."
